    Hi,

Has anyone experience with CVS on large Design Center projects ?

We are experiencing very slow CVS updates,  several minutes when opening Design center or checking in/out.

    We are using CVSNT.

Suggestions to speed up CVS are welcome.

    Regards,

    Peter

When I use Tortoise windows login (can't get pserver to work),  making the connection takes about a minute, and opening a note about half a minute to a minute. The same for accessing an object.

It seems like the CVS is slow by itself also then?

Are virus scanning enabled on the server? (I did find that this possibly could affect performance of CVS quite heavily).

I also found this faq hinting that network connectivity might be the reason:

    Hi,

Setting the option "Don't resolve client names" in the advanched tab of CVSNT control panel solved the problem. (but indicates a DNS problem on the network, but that's outside of the scope of this thread).

    Regards,

    Peter
