    Hi,

I produce pdfs where i only use Arial as font.

The customer would like to remove the fonts from being embedded in the actual pdf to reduce filesize (since its only basic fonts they use everyone have them installed on their computer).

    Is this possible?

    Regards,

    Christofer

I think this is done by the removing the keyword “fontembed” in the pdf-driver file.

Yes, perhaps this is a non-question.

I guess fonts are never in the actual pdf, unless you specify in the driver that they should be embedded.

    So, problem solved :)

We would like to reduce the size of the PDF file.  How do we specify to embed just a subset of the font?  The font we use is not a standard font so we cannot remove it completely.

    Thanks,

    Carol

Hi there - On the PDF driver there is a setting called Embed threshold you can see a description here.

I have never used it myself so I would love to hear any details about it.

You could try different settings for compression ratio on images (if your PDF's contain images) and analyse the contents to see if you can use vector graphics instead of rasterised graphics.

    Good luck!
