    Hi,

I'm installing virtual printers using the port monitor functionality of StreamServe. Everything goes ok, except that the OS doesn't let me share the printer, it throws the error 0x000006d9.

Googling on this gives that you can only share a printer on Windows 7 or Server 2008 if the Windows Firewall is enabled ?!. (printer sharing seems to use a dll of the windows firewall). Since I hae to use MCEffee on this server, Switching on the Windows Firewall doesn't sound like a good idea.

Anyone knows a way around it ?

    Regards,

    Peter

    Hi,

    Just found a workaround.

The windows Firewall only needs to be running when the share is setup. After that the windows Firewall can be stopped again. The share keeps working with the firewall disabled.

    Regards,
    Peter
