In StreamServe build 1450 or later, if retries are not found for an initial attempt to fetch document definitions, retries for fetching document definitions are added.

The default number of retries is 10, with three seconds between each attempt. (In build 1521, the number of retries was changed from 20 attempts to 10 attempts.)

How do you change or disable retries for fetching document definitio

Something similar to the following appears:

(5418) 1 Retry of fetching document defintion: 1 (10)
(5418) 1 Retry of fetching document defintion: 2 (10)
(5418) 1 Retry of fetching document defintion: 3 (10)
(5418) 1 Retry of fetching document defintion: 4 (10)
(5418) 1 Retry of fetching document defintion: 5 (10)
(5418) 1 Retry of fetching document defintion: 6 (10)
(5418) 1 Retry of fetching document defintion: 7 (10)
(5418) 1 Retry of fetching document defintion: 8 (10)
(5418) 1 Retry of fetching document defintion: 9 (10)
(5418) 1 Retry of fetching document defintion: 10 (10)

This setting can also be modified using the following start-up argument:

-callprocretry M:N

where:

M is the number of retries.

N is the amount of time in seconds between each retry.

Example 1:

-callprocretry 10:3

This is to retry 10 times with a three second interval (one initial attempt, with nine retries).

Example 2:

-callprocretry 0:0

This is to disable document definition fetch retries.

  • Hi Dave, Nice article. I tried startup argument "-callprocretry 0:0" in build 1450 but it is not working . Regards BKM
